Twinity its time to bring the real world in real time
Above is Covent Garden as modelled in Twinity. A very rich model, but it is so empty. Covent Garden is always so full of life. Below is Total Social Media's tweet meter for the Covent Garden area, showing that it is concentrated with very height tweeting.
The fact that Twinity uses the Google map to create itself opens up the possibility of real time information flowing from the real world to Twinity. I have talked about people who potentially attend an invent in RL and Twinity, communicating via Foursquare and Twitter and being aware of each other. This is a major trend of Web 3.0, not only to INCLUDE location but to EXTEND the concept of location.
Total Social Media is developing applications that aggregate real world data from location based services like twitter, foursqure and Wikipedia and represent them as graphical interfaces. This data could just as easily be used to model crowds, car counts, and noise in a model like Twinity.
I would be interesting to get these two companies in a room together and see what they would have to say about the future of virtual information.
