Using machine translate makes talking slow, but it is possible to carry on basic social interactions now in SL with people who speak other languages, even some Asian languages. Once you get the hang of it it can be fun. I have formed SL Friends with people who speak French and Japanese with their help. My poor mastery of English does make it a bit hard some times. LOL, ROFL.
