Virtual virtual Pandora

A SIM inspired by Avatar's Pandora. A virtual image or a virtual creation, an avatar being an avatar. Baudrillard was a French theorist of media who said that there was not longer any reality in our culture, that rather everything was an imagine of another image which in turn was an image, just pointing a each other and never pointing at anything real.

For cynical Baudrillard such a endless universe of copies was extremely ugly. Perhaps its just I have grown up in his post-modern world, but to me it has been the world of media sampling, pirating and play which has been so fun and interesting.

Some of us today just take it so for granted that culture and even "reality" is easily altered, copied, and played with.

About Me

My Photo
I have really strong opinions about silly things that I can validate using the strongest social theory, like why you should not watch Sex in the City or how the Simpsons promotes democracy.
