Why You Need This Diary
You're interested in participating in Netroots Nation 2009 (August 13-16) on Second Life, but you don't want to feel like a self-conscious newbie. Also, you don't want to look like a dork.

What This Diary Will NOT Do For You
This is not a diary about the mechanics of second life. It will not teach you about navigating around, teleporting, shopping, managing your inventory, or your contacts, etc. There are other resources for that (e.g., the Second Life website). All this diary will do is help you to feel more comfortable in Second Life, and keep you from looking like a dork.
