SL6B Future Stage

Futurist Stage

To celebrate the 6th year of Second Life Linden Labs has presented the future stage. Actually the use of the term future in this years celebration betrays a growing lack of confidence about SL place in the technology sets that establish the future. In the six years of Second Life the virtual world has seen Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, iPhones, Blackberry, and small laptops take all the attention. Microsoft's SharePoint has expanded web based delivery at work, Google has expanded geo-positioning and 3-D mapping to most of the settled globe. Wikipedia has expanded to cover almost all the information in the world, and Second Life, well its survived.

Maybe VR is still not ready?

About Me

My Photo
I have really strong opinions about silly things that I can validate using the strongest social theory, like why you should not watch Sex in the City or how the Simpsons promotes democracy.
