Recently my RL has gotten a lot busier and a lot more interesting. Perhaps this is why I feel that suddenly Second Life has become lifeless? Or maybe people really are giving up on it.
Compared to other technology platforms from Twitter to SharePoint Second Life has been a slow gradual growth in an industry of explosive growth. I think slow and steady is dead in Second Life. Sure in world population continues to grow, but frankly not as much as you would expect given recent jumps in broadband usage.
Is it time to write Second Life off? I think we have all reduced are expectations for what was going to happen over 2007 already.

- I have really strong opinions about silly things that I can validate using the strongest social theory, like why you should not watch Sex in the City or how the Simpsons promotes democracy.
