To understand Second Life identity one must start with an understanding that it is recursive at its core. People spend massive amounts of times taking and editing pictures of avatars which are themselves constructed artifacts. In a blog like this I take photos of the photos of the images created. Its copy of copy of copy of until you never really get to the sign. Its Simulacra from the start, self is only a simulation of something that has no location in reality, or the location is distant.
