Private and Public in Second Lilfe
A private place that is too high to be flown to in Second Life.
Places can be made private in Second Life by making them high. If you make something high enough someone will need a land mark to teleport to it. In that way you can keep a space still public but only allow access via social networks or other ways of transferring data information.
Again the space of Second Life confirms to ideological concepts in the American society. I have written about how American culture forms Second Life before. In this function of space we see the American preference for above over below. In America status is often made real or materialised by height. Again space in Second Life also gives an exclusive privilege to higher spaces.
