Items copied from Japanese culture are very popular in Second Life. Not the modern glowing neon things that you might imagine, but traditional items. This may be beacuse of their elegence, simplicity, and beauty make them great items for Virtual Reality. Or maybe SL is really popular in Japan.
Compare this to Africa, Arab, or China. Second Life is emerging with more of Europe, America and Japan. It does not represent humanity.
