Its sad that some of the most interesting places in Second Life are essentially vast ghost towns.
Some people have told me that SL residents are generally social butterflies or builders, its a part of folk knowledge that builders are often not social and social butterflies are often not builders. I have had people who identify themselves with both sides of the line tell me this.
New Babbage is a place of builders and not social networks. Over the past year I have watched efforts to form communites in New Babbage fall one by one: the Navy vanished, the air defense team vanished, the orphans seem to even be gone. For some reason the community of collectors and designers who have created this amazing.
